I have an opportunity to purchase a 1964 Jeep Cj5.
Not running, body need lots of work, frame good, missing hardtop tailgate lid, poor tires but clean title.
i will bet the frame needs work. They tend to crack as well as rust. Its only worth what someone will pay in the end. Unless you can do ALL the work these can get real expensive to repair /restore even to just a driver, even doing ALL the work they get expensive as well. A labor of love and hate.. That is what a jeep thing means.
My first was a 47. It was what i learned to weld, repair on. Was a fun jeep to learn to wheel on the Rubicon. The best thing about those is how simple they are. You should do a build page. best to start hitting every nut and bolt with a penetration oil. after that many decades they wont want to budge very easy. The body support channels under the tub have wood in them. well whats left maybe rotted.
