Just help me out by sending me an answer to my question, instead of calling me an idiot. I thought Jeep Forum would help Jeep owners out. But I guess not!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
I am the OP and I never said anything about anyone being an idiot. You, my friend, have accused me of saying what someone else did. To the one who did, please don't bash. It does not help.

When I joined this forum a few years back I looked around and read the faq's, forum rules, and stickies at the top of each forum to get a handle on how things worked here. I put out the effort so I could get the help I needed.

I created the post here to try to help out some of the newcomers and asked to have it stickied so it wouldn't get buried way down the list. There is a sticky thread that clearly explains what this sub forum is for and it's rules. At the time that I created this was right after the new admins took over and many people needed help with forum issues and it was difficult to keep up with amongst all the "My Jeep needs help" questions.

And even though you may not agree, JeepForum is full of good people who would be more than willing to offer help and/or give answers to someone's questions. You just have to look in the right forum for it. An "all encompassing how to explanation" on JF would be too large and difficult to navigate, that is why each forum has it's own set of how to/section rules threads.

I will pretty much agree that the search function doesn't always work the way you would like it to. But again, I have never seen one that works perfectly. I had to learn how to word my searches to get better results. It's just a fact of website search features.

Don't bash anyone in here cause you're not getting what you want cause that won't help, either. And to everyone else, when someone asks a question that has been asked before please don't reply with "Do a search". Try a quick search and post up a link instead. Help them out, they are new. Remember, we were all noobs at one time. There were many people in my noob days that posted a reply in my early threads with a link and/or a suggestion to help me search better. To all who did that for me I say THANKS!!!!!

Also, if you are new to JF, fill out your user profile!!! The more info you can put in there about what make/model/year etc for your jeep the more others can help by giving better answers. Mine is here:

http://jeepspace.jeepforum.com/FernBchJeep

I put everything I could think of in it and as I learned more about my TJ I added to it. Not everyone will look at it when I have a question, but many will. Knowing is half the battle.

Have a stock XJ (aka Cherokee) and want to know what it has? Start here:

http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f11/c...k-specs-26256/

Have a TJ (97-06 Wrangler) and want info about it? Try here:

http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f9/tj-forum-faq-615132/

All the forums have some form of this and they are a great wealth of info. Look around a little and read read read. Before you know it you'll be cruisin right along like a pro.

Enjoy

What Phillip said. While you're at it, fill in your profile and tell us about your Jeep. If that info was in your profile I could have included a link to that forum here. JF has a forum for every model of jeep, plus separate forums for outdoors, wheeling, and more.

Enjoy!

Again, not the proper place to post that. Did you even read this thread?

Yes, that is the way things are set up. Here is the forum faq. It should answer many basic questions.

http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f6/fa...-2008-a-62731/

If you have problems or it has been several days after passing 25 posts and you still can't, either create a new thread in this forum asking for help or pm a mod. It could be a simple as waiting for the system to update.

May be a noble cause but I'm sure most appreciate being pointed in the right direction. I know I did. And it's not a losing battle if someone benefits.

If you log in from a PC, look above your avatar. It says JeepForum Supporter instead of registered user.

Anyone else having trouble searching? I get no results regardless of what I enter. Very odd.
