This forum is for questions about JF and/or bug reports ONLY.
If you have a question about your Jeep regarding problems, upgrades, purchases, etc Please post in the appropriate tech forum. You will have a better chance of getting the help you need there as more users will see it there instead of here. Also, you may find that some questions have been asked already and the Search Function will be of great help. Search is your friend. If you have trouble with it try changing you search terms. Ask me how I know. One other note. Most of the forums have a spec thread such as this one for the TJ Wrangler:
Yes ! This section is for questions about JF and/or bug reports ONLY. PLEASE !!!if your getting on any forum for the first time, click around and get an idea how things work before posting.
For one thing, it makes you look like an idiot, when you post in the totally wrong section.

[QUOTE=rooster51;13297693] Whats the worse that can happen? Your jeeps already broke.
My suggestion to force the new members to read it:
The question "have you read and understood this yes or no" should bee hidden in the text and not just in the bottom.
That way they are forced to read it to find the "yes or no"alternative and cant just scroll to the bottom and click yes and not having a clue of what it just was they agreed on.
Im no idiot. Anyone that would quote from the bible should know you dont call anyone an idiot. So now you have sinned. This website should make it totally clear how to use it. And it doesnt. Thats why there are posts about what and what not to do, after the question or thread has been posted. I had a question. Just help me out by sending me an answer to my question, instead of calling me an idiot. I thought Jeep Forum would help Jeep owners out. But I guess not!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
I am the OP and I never said anything about anyone being an idiot. You, my friend, have accused me of saying what someone else did. To the one who did, please don't bash. It does not help.
When I joined this forum a few years back I looked around and read the faq's, forum rules, and stickies at the top of each forum to get a handle on how things worked here. I put out the effort so I could get the help I needed.
I created the post here to try to help out some of the newcomers and asked to have it stickied so it wouldn't get buried way down the list. There is a sticky thread that clearly explains what this sub forum is for and it's rules. At the time that I created this was right after the new admins took over and many people needed help with forum issues and it was difficult to keep up with amongst all the "My Jeep needs help" questions.
And even though you may not agree, JeepForum is full of good people who would be more than willing to offer help and/or give answers to someone's questions. You just have to look in the right forum for it. An "all encompassing how to explanation" on JF would be too large and difficult to navigate, that is why each forum has it's own set of how to/section rules threads.
I will pretty much agree that the search function doesn't always work the way you would like it to. But again, I have never seen one that works perfectly. I had to learn how to word my searches to get better results. It's just a fact of website search features.
Don't bash anyone in here cause you're not getting what you want cause that won't help, either. And to everyone else, when someone asks a question that has been asked before please don't reply with "Do a search". Try a quick search and post up a link instead. Help them out, they are new. Remember, we were all noobs at one time. There were many people in my noob days that posted a reply in my early threads with a link and/or a suggestion to help me search better. To all who did that for me I say THANKS!!!!!
Also, if you are new to JF, fill out your user profile!!! The more info you can put in there about what make/model/year etc for your jeep the more others can help by giving better answers. Mine is here:
How do i get to the proper tech forum to ask others about my tranny issue?
Thanks for the help
What Phillip said. While you're at it, fill in your profile and tell us about your Jeep. If that info was in your profile I could have included a link to that forum here. JF has a forum for every model of jeep, plus separate forums for outdoors, wheeling, and more.
