How do I rename a link?

For example in my signature I would like to rename my rebuild thread link to "our 5.3 rebuild". How do I do that? I know it is simple, just can't find out how to do it.

[url= whatever the real url is ] type whatever you want it called [/ url]

no spaces in any of that except the title you create.

example

Our 5.3 Build

You can also throw colors at it using the same basic format.

Thanks Tim, it would have been a long time before I stumbled onto that. Wish that function had a button.

Interesting. The line, by itself, is more than 100 characters. I get an error message saving my signature stating the entire signature is limited to 100 characters. But even with the error, it will post my over-100-character signature, but without the rename.

Quote my previous post with the link in it.

Copy the line you need and paste it where you want it in your sig.

Thanks, but that only inserts a link, no option to rename it.

Type out what you want it to be. Highlight it. Click that link and then it'll work.

Tried that but this is the message I get: 1.Your signature cannot be longer than 100 characters including BB code markup.

Ok, step one: type out "My 5.3 build", got it
Step two: highlight it, got it
Step three: Click on that link, don't got it, can you be more specific

At this point I am feeling really stupid.

At this point you should start deleting other things in your sig.
