Do not Abuse Tags!

Tags are extremely helpful if they are used correctly. Tagging threads with very relevant keywords help both search engines and our own search to find threads for people.

Do not abuse tags!

They are not to be used as a joke. People blatantly abusing them will be banned.

A lot of the time, I'm getting a message that says it's not an approved tag, even though it's relevant to the thread.

If you scroll down below the 'post reply' button, you'll see a small link that says 'tags'. If you look on the right side of that block, you'll see a link that says 'edit tags'. Click on that and you'll see from there.

No one but Moderators should be able to tag threads. Permissions just aren't setup correctly right now.

Might wanna check into that. I've tagged a couple of threads in the members' areas.

Tonight I saw a thread which was not tagged, and proceeded to add some necessary tags. Once the thread was tagged, I hit "enter" and got a warning that I did not have the permissions necessary to be able to tag, but then it said that the tags I added were successful, and it worked. I just thought I would help out a tag moderator and was unaware we were not suppose to do this until I read it in the announcements area tonight. Sorry!

Same here.. Upon entering the forum.. I took it upon myself to enter tags because none have been done.. However.. even if I or other enter tags.. I do not see an designated area (tag window/box) with all said tags.. Most sites have this type of tag system which is used for quick reference when searching for a specific topic or category.. So tagging the threads (unless there is a tag thought block) is a bit pointless.
