Delete Your Private Messages

As you may or may not have noticed during peak load times our database server has some issues. We are trying to diagnose this problem.

This forum software handles private messages very inefficiently. We can see certain PM queries taking a long time to run during these down times.

While it is probably not the cause of the problem removing private messages certainly will help.

So voluntarily we ask you please delete all private messages you can both in Inbox and Sent Items.

Before doing so you can download them all;

http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/private.php

Download all Private Messages as:
XML | CSV | Text

If you want to delete them all at once for both the Inbox and Sent Items there is a link that says 'Empty Folder'

No you don't need to take yours out but storing them does limit you to what you can receive and send.

Any PM deletion can't hurt but whom I'm really speaking to are those with like 600, 700, 800+.

No I think we just need to play with the settings. Our DB server is real powerful that we bought last server drive. Has something like 8 processors and 16 gigs of RAM. Hard to believe we are maxing that out.
