i am relatively new at welding, and have not had much experience closing gaps, especially that big of a gap. no real reason i did not close it other than lack of expienience, my dad wanted to close it up. and also kinda ran out of time today, and want to get it on this weekend.

just take a piece of scrap and weld it in there and then grind the hell out of it to make it look good

i might, as that can still be done on the jeep here at home. i built the bumper at work, and wanted to bring it home so i could install this weekend. i still have other welding to do on the jeep, so welding in a piece of scrap to fill it will be no issue.
