2011 R-POD 171 by Forest River. 2100 lbs without water, 18'4" in lenght. Towed this from Alabama to Arizona, Utah and Colorado last summer. Just the right size for 2 people and a small tow vehicle.

Hey Md, how does that pull uphill? Very interested in what a wrangler can get up a mountain pass.

I am interested in this too with that much frontal area, how does the jeep do at highway speeds. I have been thinking about trading my travel trailer for a popup more suited to mty jeep.

The LJ pulls and tows just fine. I have the 6sp manual, so that helps. I also have a Reese weight distribution hitch and a Prodigy brake controller to help keep everything level and in-line.

On the other hand, I'm not racing across the tops of any mountains, and being from the east coast, I rarely have to cross anything over 2500ft.

Also, when towing the trailer, I don't exceed 65mph, and that's only if things are flat and level and traffic is light.

I have noticed that pulling up on the handle to 4wd high before I start up a steep hill does help greatly, and has had no ill effects on the front differential.

Interesting about the 4wd on hills!

I've been really wanting to get a light weight box trailer for camping gear, and maybe I would also mount a tent on the trailer? I would think that even with a light weight trailer (under 1,000 pounds) that I'd want trailer brakes? I did buy a 7-way harness (for an LJ actually, but it should work on my TJ). My plans would including towing it to Colorado each year, so there would be mountains involved.
