Wrangler BEHIND seat sub boxes

Hey guys, I'm wanting to add a 10" sub or 2 behind the back seat in my tj. I'm trying to get some ideas, amd was curious as to what others have done. Please post pics of your box and amp placement so I can come up with something. My back seat is not coming out, so huge box pics aren't needed. Thanks guys!

You should just get a custom box. I've seen some people put it in the bottom of there back seat. I got lucky and found a pair of subs off Craigslist that fit nice and snug behind my seat...no cargo room though

I will more then likely build my own nod, but i've been thinking of kickers ts10L3 loaded enclosure to save some room for cargo

No pics, since it was over a decade ago, but we built a couple of boxes for my YJ. The first was a bandpass design that held a single 10" sub.

Similar to this pic. We had it all squared off, and measured it to fit at deck height.

The second one, when I added another 10" sub, we just built a ported box and followed the angle of the back seat. The subs fired directly into it. Squared off sides, back, and top, with the angle up the front.

Similar to this one. The only differences being the width and angle. We used MDF and took several measurements to make sure the internal volume was sufficient for the subs.

I just threw a Basslink in mine... Kicks hard enough for my "requirements" and I have space for stuff.

When I bought the Jeep, it just had the 10" sub in a small down-firing box (tan). It really didn't hit that hard. So as an experiment, I replaced the old sub with a Polk Audio DXi sub. Also bought a cheap box (30 bucks at walmart, black) and a second Polk Audio sub.

I made a new box (sealed) eventually (on the right) with more airspace per sub and both downfiring. It's about .9 cu ft of airspace per sub. Takes up the whole trunk space, but doesn't really interfere when I drop the top.

Currently, I am running a ported enclosure in place of the back seats, so I don't have the back seats now. With my experiences with different boxes, the ported box hits way harder and louder than the gray, sealed box. Sorry I don't have a pic of the gray box in the trunk.

I built a down firing sub box for my 2002 sahara. It had 2 RF P1 10s in it with a RF punch 300.1 amp. It sounded good but I think my new setup in my 2006 LJ rubicon sounds just as good and doesn't take up near as much space. Here is what I built myself for my console. It is made of 3/16 aluminum plate, 3/4" MDF and i fiberglassed the park brake section. It was a lot of work... I bed linered it and bottom mounted the sub... I have a cheap 10" dual brand sub. If I had a RF of kicker or something better I could crank the punch 300.1 amp up somemore and really be jamming! I also have the skinny pedal under dash amp mount. Works great and is completely hidden.

Thanks. The dimensions of the box is 13H X 18W X 8 1/2 D. These aren't the best pics, but trying to show you how it is attached and how the wire was ran.
