working on exhaust which would be cheaper?

for exhaust i was going to go the route of flowmaster 40 muffler and a magnaflow high flow cat. so as for cost i could go the route of getting a direct fit cat (which would cost around $204 +sh) and Rusty's exhaust with a FM 40 which would be $225 shipped. i could also try going the route of universals but i am not too good at welding so i don't know if i could do a cat just yet. does anyone know how much a muffler shop would charge to install something like the cat or the muffler. or any drawbacks to installing the direct fit kits myself. basically any advice, stories, or experiences would be greatly appreciated.

my cat has had marbles in it for a while and all my hangers are now rotted off. I'm also curious about what a local muffler shop would charge for just some 2.5" pipe welded and bent with maybe like a magnaflow, or cherry bomb turbo or other cheap muffler and a new cat. I have heard that you can get the piping and muffler done for a little over a hundred at a Value Muffler type shop, any truth to that? everything is so rotted i know i would have a hard time doing a cat back kit in my driveway. not really sure why this is in pic requests though
