Windshield lights wiring

I'd like to see some pics of how you routed your windshield light pics.

Post up what you've got. I already have the switch installed, but will need to route wiring. I just want to see how/where you routed the wires from the lights into the engine compartment, cowl, etc...

I have the KC HiLites brackets with Hella 500 driving lights. I ran the wires through the cowel (no drilling except under the cowel where you won't see it). Pretty simple install.

Pics of the holes under the cowl would be great!

I don't have pics under the cowel, but all you will need is a small hole (less than 1/2") to run the wires through into the engine compartment to do the wiring. I drilled mine just about in the center and then touched up the hole with some paint to prevent rusting.

So as you look at the cowl from the driver seat, you drilled the hole to route the wire back into the engine area vs doing back into the cab correct?

Makes sense!

You want the power wires going into the engine bay, the only wires that need to go into the cab are the wires to the switch.

This is how I ran my wiring

I tucked the wiring under the cowel also, and ran them through and then underneath the hood, with just enough room by the foam seal. Pretty much the same way Trombino did his, but I didnt drill through or anything

Just one hoel on each side of the intake plate...keeps it clean and easily routed to your dash.

This doesn't really show wiring but you can see how clean it looks then

I was thinking of doing that with mine, I'm assuming you drilled the holes on each side yourself. What did you use to seal them so they dont rust?

i just used a rubber grommet with a little 2 part epoxy on the outside edge...dont need to use much at all, it seals up in 5 mins. The grommet will never come out again but the lights are on for good anyway!

I just folded down the windshield and ran the wires thru the opening and pulled it back up.
