Guys, a question: How do you determine how deep the water is before you cross? How do you know how deep you are getting yourself into before you do it?

this was the first trip I took after installing the snorkel, and its the deepest I have a pic of.

Jeep garage:

1995 Jeep Wrangler - 4 cyl, 2.5" lift, BFG AT 30s, Ford 8.8, SYE+CV, AX15 swap, ARB snorkel, Aussie locker + loads more - sold
1978 Jeep CJ-7 - 304 V8, TH400 auto and quadratrac
2007 Jeep Liberty - Mother's Jeep, BFG ATs and....mud?

that specific time there was a swamp buggy in front of us, he has 40" tires, so do the math! if it was way to deep i would get close to the edges since is not so deep there...

BTW that was my 1st time wheeling

short but deep hole, had a water line up to the glass on the rear hatch on exit.

Not sure I'd be interested in going swimming and then getting back into my Jeep soaking wet. Is there not a more advanced way to determine the depth?
