There were lots of good water crossing's here local. Now there are houses all built up, and most of the streams have been concreted in, and used as a rain water runnoff!
If I only had pics of the good old days! There was an old access road that ran down to the river on both sides of the Lake Murray Damn. It was not at all uncommon to ride from one bank to the opposite, just as long as the river spillway was closed! The rocks were so smooth from the rushing water, it was like riding down a paved road in 4' of water!

Press some axle grease in the caps lip then extend the breather with some tubing.

Here's a couple with the XJ. I've got others with the TJ, but I'm too lazy to find them right now.

Not terribly deep, but it was still amusing.

We found out a couple of years ago that Jeeps float. I don't have pics of my buddy's Jeep doing this but I do have pics of the vehicle that followed us. You could feel the Jeep float for a bit and then settle and the the tires would push us forward a bit where we would float and then it would settle again. It felt really strange but it made it. The first pic show the Jeep (Red's TJ with 4inch lift and 33inch tires) compared to the full size Silverado (9inches of lift with 36 or 37" tires, can't remember). Needless to say we found a different way out and didn't try going back through.
