have done that for 40+ years... that is why built this thing , no more worries about sleeping anywhere anytyme. city, suburb, rest area, woods, desert, swamp, mountains, you name it.:2thumbsup:
i cannot even imagine how insanely rare these have to be...that said...i have to have one! lol its just like that old saying goes, "if you can't have it, you just want it even more"
If you have the hardtop with any kind of sleeper on the roof, you lose the ability to go topless. With an RV to pull your rig, you have all the creature comforts of home after a good hard days wheeling.
And for those that want to camp when 500 miles up a Jeep only trail that an RV can't go...Tent!
If I had the money, I think a great setup would be a 3/4 ton Ram with a slide out camper, like this 18' Lancer.
Then tow the Jeep!
But back to reality, I'm thinking of either just a box trailer to throw my camping supplies in, or something like a Quicksilver 6.0 popup that is about 600 lbs. (unloaded). It doesn't need to be an off-road trailer as I'd just leave it at a campsite.

yeah where do you get a tent like that? I'm thinking of building a custom trailer out of a 90's stepside chevy truck bed, and putting a tonnuea cover on it. I was thinking of finding a tent setup like that, I could put it on the top and basically make my own adventure trailer.
I plan on trying to pull something off similiar to the earthroamer with the cherokee I am getting. Just gotta figure out how the pop up is going to work without making it crazy top heavy.
Developed for remote tours with two persons. Fitted with all amenities to achieve a comfortable and unforgettable expedition tour to pathless areas. Because the original hardtop, the rear door, the rear seat with seatbelts, and the rear roll cage are taken off, the weight increases only max. 200 KG ( 400 LB ). All parts are designed in 3D to make the smallest area useful. At your tour destination you can drive an extreme cabriolet with bikini top, while the camper serves you as a mobile home. The Wrangler Unlimited will be developed after production start.
I just want to know if there is any interest to have one of these campers.
