My flares are cut 1", but when flexing the hit points in the front are the rear of the fenderwell/firewall area, and the flange where the flare meets the fender.
At the rear, it's the lower corners of the tub (inner fenderwheel) both front & rear.
I could bumpstop those hit points out, but I'm just going to MetalCloak it, remover the bumpstops that I have, and let it flex.
(This is with 4" Currie lift, 1" BL, and 35" MTR's)
