What kind of hood louvers and/or air vent have you cut into your TJ's hoods?

made from perforated sheet stock from mcmaster.




no noticeable decrease in engine temps, but definitely a decrease in underhood temps.

Here's mine. The crude TJ temp gauge does appear to run a few degrees less than before. I can verify that when running there is a lot of hot air blowing through the hood louver vents so it is definitely evacuating heat from the engine bay.

Not sure on the temp decrease I installed the Flex-lite 3300 cfm black magic kit the same day I did the hood.
I can tell you even in the summer if I am doing over 20 the fan doesn't come on.

Oh yeah it's a PSC hood kit.

BobA I've only had it on for about a month and havent had a chance to drive it in any weather. I'm sure that a little water can get in there but how much ?

I was thinking about a set of louvers for my TJ, do you guys worry about any possible complications coming from water getting into the engine bay thru these vents? I guess more specifically rain water is what I'm talking about

I like that pattern.

Engine temps won't go down. The Tstat keeps the engine running at the proper temp. Lower engine bay temps take stress off the cooling system though.
