I just fell into owning a best top tire carrier but it came with only the main part (no brackets or hardware). Since it is missing a lot of parts, I might try to convert it to be independamd of the tailgate like the tnt unit.

OrFab here. Only recommendation is getting the non-jerry can model. Yes its cool to have jerry cans, it is not cool to have a lot of overhang.

with a 37"

Yes I dragged there..

I also have the Jerry can Or-Fab carrier. Like stated above, it's cool to have the jerry cans but the overhang is a little much. I'll probably take it off and run without any spare in a year or two as the Jeep evolves. I'm only on 33x12.5s. The product is great and I am very happy with it but the tire sticks out a bit more than I'd like it to.

After install.

Agreed. I currently run a no tire carrier with the spare in the tub, until I can find someone who wants to trade for a non Jerry can swing out. [IMG][/IMG]

I would worry about body armor instead of another way to carry a tire. Your tub looks like an old beer can.

Already on the way. Also, for me, a way to carry my spare is far more important than protecting an area of my jeep ill never hit again. Because I don't plan on having friends back my jeep into light poles and walls anytime soon.

Do you guys think the bestop or TNT tire carrier will hold a 33" spare plus one of these?

http://www.warriorproducts.com/catal...venture-racks/

It would likely only have the rack loaded with a cooler (yeti 45qrt) just going to the campsite. I'd remove the cooler for wheeling. Unless I was doing some light wheeling/expedition stuff

I don't think so. That Warrior rack mounts to the tailgate hinge on the passenger side, and to the tailgate on the drivers side by the latch.
I know for a fact it would interfere with the Bestop carrier...because I have one.
Maybe the Orfab Gerry can model will go around it, but I doubt it.

Will the bestop rack work with their carrier? I'm looking for a storage rack for the *** end, and my rear smittybilt bumper is fine. I'd like to avoid getting something like a lod with rack if i could. If not then i guess i know which way I'll have to go. Life was so simple before kids
