Take a look at this link for a good idea as well. I have collected the parts for this but haven't gotten the chance to try an install yet. The wire that is indicated here is too small of a gauge though. You want to use 16 or 18 gauge and get a fuse to wire into it as well (rather than tap into the fuse box- at least that is what I did). I don't like tapping into the fuse box personally. I have already routed a power and ground set of wires from the battery (not hooked up yet) and through the firewall from the drivers side (on my 1997 TJ that is the only place I found a hole) all the way around to the passenger side. Still need to finish up the overhead bracket and wire it up.

i have a dash mount just like junkyardcj5's but it's a Rugged Ridge from 4WheelParts. I like it because it uses the stock holes in the side of the dash and I don't have to chop anything up....yet.

Nicely done...but I'd like to know how you attached the mount to above your windshield. I see the bolts holding the cb to the mount, but can't see how the mount is attached. Is there metal behind the plastic? Pics of how/where you drilled and attached it would be great.

The space to the right of the CB is the original switch piece. I moved it to make room for the CB. Not hard to do at all!
