TJ Bumpers

A lot of us out there are looking to get different bumpers in different configurations. So, I'd like to start this thread. Let's see your bumpers (manufacturer or custom, front and/or rear). I would start it off but I'm one of the people looking to get bumpers!

I have the smittybilt rock crawler classic bumpers on the front and back. They're nothing crazy but I like them, and I only paid $100 for them. Sorry bout the crappy pic of the rear bumper I don't really have a good one.

Another set of Smitty Classic bumpers.
I later sold the front and bought a JCR Dagger winch bumper.

Awesome! I had completely forgotten about JCR.

So I called JCR and they don't ship to Alaska but I can get it through Northridge. Going with the stubby Prerunner. What do you recommend to paint the bumper worth? Powder coat or would bed liner suffice?

I just used Rustolium primer and Rustolium satin black. Easy to touch up with the rattlecan when needed.
Powdercoating or bedlining would work too. It's up to you.

Big daddy offroad front. Started out looking like this.

Now it's this.

I like it better now. Fully boxed steel.

I have the front and rear Barricade Bumpers. I haven't put them to the test yet since I just got the Jeep but they seem like solid pieces.

Just installed the rear with tire carrier last night so I don't have any pics of it. Will update once I do.

How do you like them? I've wondered about them myself. Seems to be some good bumpers for the price.

EDIT: Got any side sides of the front bumper? Would love to see how it looks without a winch.

I like them. I had to mess with one of the lower mount holes on the front bumper but I am not 100% sure that's not an issue with my Jeep instead of the bumper.

I just ran out and took these shots, hopefully they answer your question.

Cramped parking lot pics of the rear installed. Went on perfectly! I wouldn't tow anything heavy with it unless you weld some frame tie-ins to it but they don't advertise it as a towing bumper. I need to do something with my plate and figure out a 3rd brake light but it does not rattle at all.

I took all of that heavy steel Chinese junk off of my Jeep and went back to stock OEM. I do not plan to run a winch even though I am wired for one. The weight difference is shall I say large and if I bend an OEM there are tons of them at most OR shops for virtually free if not free. I would rather the bumper give than the shock be transferred to my frame. The diet included a bunch of other stuff but it paid off with much improved fuel economy (such as it is) and better performance and handling on and off road. I may replace the OEM stuff with Savvy aluminum but that is low on my priority list for the moment.

Started out with a Smittybilt bumper, then decided I wanted to go with tube fenders and sold it. Got the Metalcloak aluminum bumper w/ 52" end caps and felt like they were too wide so I swapped the end caps out for the 43" caps that I run now.
