stock wrangler rear bumper- trimmed

anybody done this on a yj or tj? i took the plastic end caps off, i like the look but it sort of looks unfinished now. what do ya got?

i took end caps day i brought it home...i added a hitch and now it looks complete lol and added lights on the back for night wheeling and such.

Yeah I did it. It definitely looks better but it does not provide much protection for the corners. Sure the plastic end caps didn't provide much but it was still some.

im planning on taking a grinder to mine and cutting them at an angle like a lot of people do to the stock front bumper. Anybody got pics of that?

I took the milk jugs off the day I bought my Jeep. I did not like the open ends either. I bought the solid rubber end caps off Quadratec. You can also get the thin plastic end caps that just cover the opening.

Trimmed mine a while ago from an accident

Being trimmed adds no protection at all but i can aleast access the hook in the back.


To add protection to the corners i got these

IIRC A TJ rear bumper bolts up to a YJ rear crossmember, so you could do it. I have seen a few YJ's with TJ rear bumpers.
