Eventually you will have an entirely hurculined jeep. I just did my frame to keep it from rusting out from our super salty roads. It rusted out really bad and it doesnt look bad with the liner either.
I think maybe you are at a crossroads, its like you went too far but then you didnt go far enough...
Here is my old XJ i did with Rustoleum stuff, I <3 This Stuff...
Sorry for the crappy cell phone pic...
And here is my YJ im Building... I did the tailgate, the spare tire carrier, the tail gate hinges and the windshield cowl in between the window and the hood as well as the headlight bezels just to give it a fair amount on all parts of the vehicle, Front, Middle, Back
I ordered diamond plate for the rear corners and for the top of the front fenders, those will be painted before they go on as well as my winch mounting plate.
lol yeah it started with the T&T's, sliders and bumpers.
I started off with Monstaliner which get's stone chips.:shhh:
Then I switched over to Plastikoat roll on for $57 a gallon, and imagine this no more stone chips.:teehee:
I did the hood after doing the PSC hood louver to cover up some wicked scratches from branches after wheeling at a buddies place.
Before the masses grab thier pitch forks and torches, I preped the dog S out of stuff before installing the Mostaliner. IMO the stuff is to britle to use in the locations I installed it.
I know what you mean, i usually spend a day or two prepping before i paint ANYTHING! I go as far as to sand down to bare metal by hand I used to do thing incorrectly and after like 5 years of fixing chipped paint and stuff i can say i think i have mastered the rattle can lol
Your rig looks great BTW! Im considering doing my flares next before i do anything else to it... Just gotta stop raining here now haha

Gotcha, I haven't had that issue with the plastikoat product though I do wipe
down with MEK or Acetone after scuffing and start applying right after the surface is dry.
The plastikoat is dry to the touch in 10 min even on rainy days.
Yeah i use Acetone after i clean the surface with concentrated simple green. The rustoleum brand that i use dries in five minutes but it will become flaky if the surface it is applied to is wet, cold, or too hot. Of course you wont be able to tell until a week or so later when you try and wash it and it just flakes off and makes you mad beyond belief but! You live and you learn haha
That awesome! The only downside that i have found for having the inside done is that i have a stereo and amps and such installed so i cant spray it out like i could before... So now dust collects in the floor and i cant get it out
