I proudly served in the US ARMY from 11/86 to 12/92 some of the best years of my life. This is my 2005 Jeep TJ Rubicon or as my wife says "the other woman".

New Mexico Driving Rules...
  • As a general rule, the vehicle most in need of a significant amount of bodywork (for which the driver is most likely uninsured) always has the right of way.
  • Never use directional signals when changing lanes. They only serve to give away your next move, causing most NM drivers to speed up and not let you in. In fact, use of directional signals within most large NM city limits is actual illegal.
  • NM law states that at least 50% of all paved surfaces within the state must be under construction at any one time. In all construction zones, at least half of the available lanes must be closed, regardless of whether any actual construction is be accomplished or not. Construction signs shall be regularly repositioned in order to warn drivers about upcoming lane closures immediately after they pass the last exit before traffic backups.
  • Driving through constructions zones with upcoming lane closures is a popular game in NM. Itís called the "speed up and pass as many cars as you can, then see how close to the lane closure you can squeeze back into traffic before hitting any of the orange construction barrels" game.

Here's a pic of my little Jeeper with her first Jeep, me getting an A-OK from my little Jeeper, and a picture of me making dinner in Afghanistan. No pictures from Iraq since they're all on my hard drive upstairs.

Way up in the mountains in Ghor. Other than being away from my family, it was my best assignment in the Army so far. I miss my 249.

I was on an MTT so I had my M4, a M9 and carried the team's 249. But I got sick of carrying my M4 because if we ever got into it, I would just grab the 249 anyway. So I transferred my red dot sight to the 249 and stripped my M4 mag pouches off my body armor. I had the 100 round ball sack on my weapon, a 100 round sack in a pouch on my IBA and 1200 rounds in an assault pack in 200 round mags. I also had several hundered rounds stored in the bed of the truck. I always told my team that if we had to dismount and climb the mountains, I might not be the first on the objective, but I would get there.
