It will fit. I have that exact bumper. 32" BFG A/T. No room to spare to though.

lol! I haven't tried to fit anything yet. If I need to, I'll just get an oversized spare tire bracket. We sell several different ones from different companies. Pushes the tire up and out.

ya, i dont wanna push the tire out, that just gives it more leverage on the gate, and the 97's dont have that bottom tub bumpstop.

I have one of these bumpers on my 97' TJ and don't like it! It's flimsy to me, the hitch tube is very sloppy and I have to use a shim when I use my cargo carrier with it and the bumper flexes bad with the carrier in it also. I'm waiting on a Dirt Worx rear bumper to get here to replace the Smittybilt with.
I also have a 31/10.50x15 Buckshot Mudder on a 15x8 Canyon wheel for my spare on the factory spare mount and if this tire had new tread instead of being worn down to about a quarter tread, it wouldn't clear the bumper.
I'm not bashing Smittybilt by any means, I actually like their stuff but this bumper is weak!

This is an old picture but you can kinda see how close it is with a brand new 30/9.50x15 GY RS-A on a Canyon wheel
