Show me what you've done with surplus ammo cans

I just picked up a couple ammo cans from my local Army Surplus Store and now I'm looking for ideas for what to do with them.

Thanks!

It's in the back of the jeep but still hanging on to all my recovery gear. There are two more 20mm cans full of tools.

Mounted to the floor for tools, a couple spares, oil, etc. probably pulling them out when I do some tube work. Been in the jeep probably 10 years now.

Is it me or does the inside of your jeep look like a veteran stepped off a plane and right into a trendy nightclub?

Turned one into a lock box. It's in my pickup in this but I recently cut a slice in the side and bolted it to the stock spare tire bracket in the back of my XJ.

haha! The interior light looks white (maybe a slight tint of blue) in real life, but I guess the color balance of the camera turned it blue

I like it! I only have the driver seat, it's quite comfy, I've driven across country in it, not bad at all! Only down side is that it's not QUITE a direct fit like corbeau claims (Baja XRS).

It's a little wide (particularly the piece that has the back-rest adjustment to fold it forward), and the factory seatbelt retractor device (the piece that contains the rolled-up seatbelt near the floor) was in the way. So in order to fit it in there next to the b-pillar roll bar and seatbelt retractor, I had to drill the mounting holes on the adapter inwards (towards the center of the jeep) about 1 inch, and then by time I got the seat in, it was apparent that the center console wouldn't fit anymore, so I removed that and replaced it with the ammo box, which fits perfectly.

I might have squished it in there to fit, but the seat would have been rubbing REAL hard against the console, probably enough to eventually rip the seat. And it may have eventually gotten in the way of the seatbelt retractor, it was rubbing against that too.

All in all, I like it. But i wasn't happy with now it wasn't as plug and play as they claimed.

Oh, and don't try and re-use the factory flip-up seat brackets. They will make the seat WAY to tall, haha!
