Go with the tummy tuck, body damage can be covered up later and is a lot cheaper to repair than your drivetrain....

^^I agree. Performance mods first Plus you already have the SYE and CV so your pretty much there.
If/when I tuck this jeep I might mod the tub so I can get real flat without a body lift. Not sure yet.

and who makes a good TT for a pre-03?
You may need adj. upper arms to adjust your pinion angle, but I guess you may have them already with the RE kit. And i'm not sure about the 3 speed auto, but my 4 speed hangs down pretty low; which is why I got their engine skid too. I wouldn't wanna get the belly skid only and leave that tranny hanging down in the open.

He already has the adjustable arms as you can see in his sig. as for the tranny hanging low, it gets lifted just as much as the t-case, but either way it's a good idea to protect anything that might keep you from making out of the trail so I have to agree withh getting the engine/tranny skid as well...

Just fair warning to those who don't know... expect at least a month wait untill your skid gets to you. But, DO NOT CANCELL. These skids are well worth the wait and money.

Yeah well I mean it hangs as low as the t-case, unlike manual transmissions (I believe. Correct me if I'm wrong). But yeah, either way i'd definately cover it up. Chances are if the skid gets hit, or slides along something; being only an inch or so higher, theres a good chance of your tranny getting hit too.

I just wish I could get away with doing the TT without a BL...I have the 4.5" spring which are closer to 5" and really don't want to add that extra 1" BL with only 33s...I'll be able to squeeze 36s under there if I did the BL.

Any companies design one that doesn't need a BL and would only require SLIGHT tub massaging? This is stressful

The 3spd does hang down low...real low. But I do have adj CAs and a SYE/CV so pinion wouldn't be an issue.

I'm not sure which but I know there is AT LEAST one TT that doesn't require a body lift, but If I remember correctly, it hangs down farther than others. Yes you get a flatter skid that actually skids, and it's stronger, but not as much of a gain in clearance.

You should be the innovator and figure out how to get a perfectly flat skid by chopping the floor a tad...

A month is a crazy time to wait for Rokmen stuff, so far I haven't waited more then 3 days for a part from them.

I order from them quite often. (I think I have something like 5 or 6 orders with them)

The only time I have waited is right now for my HopLite corners that are in preproduction right now.

Been a while since I started this thread thinking about getting it, so I figured I'd give an update. My belly up came in the mail today. Painted it, got the engine skid brackets up, and took the stock auto tranny skid off of it. Everything will go on as soon as the paint is dried and I have some time. I'll take plenty of pictures when it's all on!

SO much beef, the delivery woman couldn't even get it out of her truck! I had to hop in and get it

I think AEV does (link)

They claim you don't need a body lift. The only thing is, I still think you would have to massage the tub to make it work. I don't see how one could get 2.75" of clearance without a BL.

From the looks of it, the Rokmen seems to give you more coverage for less money. If it was cheaper, I would probably go that route for myself. Since I want 33s some day and a SYE is going to be next, I might as well just bite the bullet and go all the way.

EDIT: my bad, you have an auto.... the one they list is for 03-06s though (link)

Did anybody have an issue with the front exhaust tubes hitting the upper control arm mount after everything was lifted? Dave at Rokmen said it happens the majority of the time.
