Post your Lego Jeep photos

Post your Lego Jeep pictures! Anything Jeep or Jeep-like would be great. Post your own design, or something you built from a kit.

I'll kick things off with this original Lego CJ-7:

I'd like to add on a spare tire and a front bumper at some point, but will have to find the right parts. Sounds like a real CJ.

This was the second go around with this design. The first one had a neat bumper-mounted winch, but totally lacked the proportioning of a real CJ-7.

This goes back a long long time!

Started out stock, as per the instructions...

Then I modified it with a goofy suspension set up that only had a trackbar and nothing else... gave it some good articulation, and I got an understanding of how the axles swing sideways on suspension travel - as the trackbar moves in an arc.

That didn't work too well though because without control arms the axles kept falling off

So we took it to the next level

Stretched wheelbase
Long Arm Conversion - arms articulated at the ends to allow flex. Without that it was like having a swaybar.
Long travel shocks
Roll Cage tied in to the chassis
CJ tailgate.
Wide fenders
upgraded headlights to match my Jeep
Fitted a swaybar to the rear that could be disconnected.

In this last one you can see how the arms twisted at the end to allow the axles to flex... and the rear swaybar disconnected.

And I'm so much happier now being able to spend time and money on the real Jeep.

Thanks! I thought it wa as nice touch. I've always admired the small design elements that Lego puts into their designs, so I thought this would really be in the true spirit of a genuine Lego model.

I remember that set! I built it when I was a kid, but I never did any modifications to it. Your work is really amazing; really cool. It's a great example of what can be done with Legos and a creative mind.

The original design isn't bad, but it has that pizza cutter look compared to today's rigs.

Very cool. It's got a lot of features packed into a fairly small design.
