Need pics of 4 inch lift on 31" tires

Ok funds are tight and wanting to do a 4 inch lift. I currently have brand spanking new 31 inch BFG all terrain tires. There is no way in hell my wife will let me get new 33" tires. Can anyone show me how silly or not so silly it would look.

Pictures on flat level ground would be perferred.

Check out the pictures section.
Or "what my jeep looks life with ___ amount of lift" in the sticky section.

Do the lift, then when the tires wear out, you can add the bigger ones! It will just look like work in progress! Good Luck!

I know its not what you looking for, but...MY $.02

I'm not an expert here but I think having a substantial amount of lift height with a small foot print (inadequate tire size and wheel backspacing) may be conducive to roll over conditions. Just an FYI.

Check out a Budget Boost lift to hold you over while you save up for new tires, then get everything you want at once. You can get Budget Boost lifts for as cheap as $200 and they make your jeep look like this...(on 31s)

Check the sticky lift thread at the beginning of this forum, I know there is someone on there with 31s and a 3" lift, imagine that jeep a little bit higher.

install the lift and bigger tires at the same time.

4" of lift with only 31s would look a bit funny.
that΄s my jeep when i had 32s with 4" of lift. that already looked a bit ugly to me.

if there is a manufacture that claims they have a track bar that will work, I'll never believe it unless one gets sent to me to install and inspect... I actually check this stuff with a centered axle at ride height and the springs out, not a fork lift flex test... of course it won't hit that way. I don't need one BTW, but I could sell a ton of em if there's one out there that works and is strong enough. I'm willing to do the work to get it right..... are you?

If your never going to get larger than 31" tires skid the 4" lift. If its temporary and bigger tires are in your future, go for it.

Here's my Jeep with 2.5" suspension and 1.25" body lift on 31's:

Or he could just sell the wife.

Just kidding OP! I'm in the same boat I have to admit. I'm planning on not telling my wife on what I plan to spend... thankfully I managed our checkbook and she only looks at it once a year if that.

wait till your tires wear out. thats what i had to do, you will also notice that if you go out and buy your kit now you will end up getting something you are probably unhappy with, if you wait till the tires are bad you will have researched so much on it you probably wont want the same lift as you want now, first i wanted a 4.5 SF, by the time my tires wore down i was on a 2.5 OME. trust me you will gain more knowledge if you just wait. while i was waiting i threw on a BB just so i could get by. also if you are going to run 31s for a lil while and then switch to 33s, look into the RC2.5 or OME from DPG. you can use the 2.5 inches of lift while your waiting and it will still look and ride good and then when you want your 33s throw on the body lift (if you go with the RC you will have to purchase that sepratley). 2.5 inches of lift looks great with 31s. when the 33s come around the 1 or 1.25" BL comes in and it really looks great. if 2.5+1.25 aint enough for you and 33s throw on some 3/4 inch spacers. thats my 2 cents. if you go with a 2.5 right away you can still use it with the 31s and 33s and your not wasting money on a BB. also a 4in lift has a lot of extra mods that need to be considered. 2.5s usually dont.

I'm on 3" suspension front, 2-2.5" in back, and a 1" BL, so that is just about 4" of lift with my 31" BFG A/T's. I like the look and the extra clearance, I can still stuff the front tires pretty well.

If the suspension lift is going to be right at 4", I would get it, and run your 31's. You could search for a used set of 33's for a trail set. One thing though, if you get a 4" lift kit you may gain more like 4.5-5". Might be something to consider. I wouldn't do a BB if you already know you want a 4" lift.
