Mopar Rattle Can Paint Results

Here are the results of my rattle can paint job using mopars new 5 oz cans from Quardratec. Took 6 cans and for 60 bucks it looks fantastic. I finished it off with black reflective jeep lettering.

The pics do not do it justice but I did not use a clear coat to give it that satin finish and its easy touch-up. In the sun it shines and you can see the pearl flakes. There is only one spot where I ran out of paint that left a streak mark but you have to know where to look.

I recommend this to anyone that has clear coat and paint peeling issues like I did. If I did it again I would probably go with 7 or 8 cans, if you are painting it the same color.

That is pretty sweet. I have a Shale Green TJ and was thinking about painting my beadlocks to match.

I think it looks great! Especially because it came from a rattle can.

I am a big fan of matte/flat paint jobs

I have been thinking of doing that too since I saw your first picture in another thread.
I want that color on my Jeep!! Mine is Inca Gold. How about a before picture. What did you do for surface prep prior to spraying?

How about some full sun pics too.

For prep I only really wet sanded with 300 grit and for the tough spots, hit it a with 220. then wiped the whole thing down. I have a few bubble spots that I need to address later on. Also, mine was fairly straight forward since my jeep way already the same color.

Before. I have to many poser shots!!!

I bought a single can of Rescue Green to do a test panel with. I must say Mopar rattle can paint, though insanely expensive, is probably the best rattle can paint I have tried. Color is amazing. Should be clearcoated to really show it off.

I didn't know such a thing existed. I might want to buy a can to touch up my rocker sliders. I painted them to match to begin with but after scrapes, and chips i'd like to touch them up but its too much work to take them off and re spray them with the gun. I might have to pick a few of those cans up.
Any one know if you can actually get them at a dealer or if dealers stock them?

Dealers have them, and you can find them online - I got mine from Quadratec. Ebay, Amazon ect also have them.

Out of all the factory Color spray cans from paint scratch and others, mopars definitely goes on the smoothest.
And dries within just a couple hours

Mine is Jeep Green too and I want to paint some rear corners the same. So the Mopar cans require a clear coat afterwards to match the original paint 100%?

I didn't clear the Sahara Tan on my trailer I painted to match my '12. It doesn't have the exact look, with less shine. But adding clear would've defeated the purpose for me, which is ease of touch up. I'd definitely recommend the Mopar paint. Covers well and goes on smooth.

Jeep looks great, BTW.

Great results! It's been a couple years now.....how are the paint jobs holding up to the test of time?

Mine still looks fresh to this day but it also doesn't bake in the sun. It sites in garage when not in use though.
