Why does it need 8" of lift to be considered a monster?

Mine has 4.5" suspension and 1.25" BL because it's not a big ghey mud truck.

i assumed this was intended to point out the stupid tall, un-necessary lift.

Not your setup which is appropriate.

My setup is 3"-4" lift and 42's. And like yours, i consider it a monster, just not in the big gay mudtruck kinda way

Ah, I was getting the vibe that the OP thinks "monster lift" = "awesome Jeep" mainly because he's new, from out of the country, and I sensed no sarcasm in his post.
