Modernized CJ's?

I've seen a rare few CJ's that are tech-ed out and just look more modern/cool. Very hard to explain, obviously it's up for interpretation! Maybe black on black, sweet fenders, bumper, roll cage.

Show me what you think is the "modernized" look!

The YJ was an AMC design. It added wider front springs , stronger frame and in the 80's square lights were the hip thing to have so they got the modern square lights

Our CJ has a USB cable to hook up an ipod or iphone. GPS with suction cup mount. The dash has two 12v power ports too. Center console has three radios, so I guess that is modern, even though two of the radios are over 15yrs old (they work better). The drivetrain is completely "different". Modern? maybe, I think new JKs have D44s in them. Air lockers are cool, maybe not modern but sure are handy. GPS: center console (when new, beat up now): dash, same thing when new: Pretty neat dual batt setup, isolator, 24v yoke for welding too: red strap holds a 24v wire welder (readywelder) that rocks: all the bits of the system: The motor is old school though, SBC: Oh ya, definitely modern, Fire suppression system: nozzles each side of radiator, plus one over gas tank AFFF type: Bottle:

Mine's modernized, or at least upgraded with the goal of being comfortable and reliable enough to drive on long trips.

Softer springs and shocks (springs made by a local spring company), radial tires, suspension seats that are moved back about 6 inches so that a normal person can actually fit into them. Roll cage, overdrive, larger brakes with dual reservoirs, turbo diesel motor and larger fuel capacity. LED dash lights, signal lights and brake lights. Fuses.

The last few things to be changed out are the seatbelts, from lap belts to retractable shoulder belts. Put some reverse lights on it, and put in saginaw steering (manual, not power)

It's more of a "sleeper" modern I guess, doesn't really look much more modern than it used to be. But man, does it ever drive and ride better than it used to!
