Don't discount the CR-V either They are great at what they can do.

I had more pictures but I can't seem to find them.

This one is mine

they are pretty good, there is a guy on here that now has a KK but he had a KJ and he put something like 300,000 miles on it and it was still running good.
He made a thread about it in the KJ section.

I love lifted KJ's. When gas was really expensive and I was driving 400 mile round trips from school to home I almost sold my TJ to get one. Hell, I would still love to have one! Lucky for me though, the new GF has one

not gonna lie, I would own a KJ if it had a SFA. My other concern is the 3.7? How does this motor stack up? I have had a number of I6 4.0s and would swear by them, but I am a total noob at these v6s... They do look bad as hell lifted w/ moabs. Not quite enough for me to sell the ol' XJ, but it's DEF. a JEEP. NOBODY can argue that. Keep the pics coming.

From what I have experienced, (BTW this is my 2nd KJ, also had a ZJ for a few years) MY KJ seemed to be able to get to speed faster and easier, but the 4.0 in the ZJ kept the speed easier... I hope that makes sense...

I love my KJ but they are fat pigs, I like the 3.7 it has been a very good motor.

This doesnt make sense to me...getting to speed faster is done with torque. Keeping your speed is accomplished with HP. The inline 6 has its torque curve lower in the RPM range giving it its "grunt" like performance. The newer V6 engine line that Jeep uses have their torque and HP curves higher in the RPM range allowing them to sustain highway speeds easier and making them more driveable in everyday situations. More "car-like" if you will.

I think its more likely that what you experienced has more to do with the weight differeces and gearing of the 2 vehicles.

I will very much agree with this.... I own a TJ but I also have a lifted 97 Sportage which goes anywhere my TJ will and some places the tj can't. Granted, the TJ is bone stock, but the sportage got a 3" lift, 1" BL, and 31's and 17" wheels for under $500. Can't do that to the TJ for that cheap! (at least without knowing how to weld )
