would take waaaay too much money/work, better off going to coils/ coilovers if you want a really low lcog yj. Otherwise tube fenders and 2.5in springs will do the trick

how would frenching the springs cost to much money? coilovers would cost 3x that, im guessing would would take it to a shop to get the work done? because then it would cost way to much money

20yrs old and 240 posts... and this is what YOUR thoughts are, or the crap you've read but never researched?

SOA, xj springs, hi steer, SYE & anti wrap, looking around $1200-$1400, coil conversion kit.... yeah start pricing!

Jason (hubdeep) where you at? All the pics they post are always the YJ and CJ sprung over, i never knew they had a TJ till they posted up their garage pic!

95YJ 2.5 AX5 NP231 HP30 4.88 and aussie, 8.8 4.88 mini spool, 4" RC, 1.5" Boom shackles, 1" BL, 1" rear stretch, 36 12.5 15 TSL SX's, trimmed front fenders, bedlined exterior, comp cut coming soon!

dont hate on 20 year olds...but depending on fab skills and luck, that $1200-$1400 price range could drop considerably.

^^^thats a lie.

not super low, but here's mine SOA+ 2" body lift (gonna drop it to 1") on 40's

probably as low as i would go with 40's..... with the hi-steer, things are getting tight up front. gonna probably have to notch the frame so the tierod can ride into it when flexing.

Sorry o great jeep god! i didnt know that i had to bow down to your opinion just b/c im a college kid w/ limited funds and limited time to be on jeepforum... Im so sorry that i failed to realize that my 240 posts means that im a retard and knwo nothing... Oh and i also forgot that you get free tools and stuff so you can use your ultimate extreme knowledge of perfect 4x4ing to fabricate...

save your trolling for pirate 4x4 loser

And for the record- you can buy 2.5in springs for around $450 and make extended bump stops w/ hockey pucks (not sure on price but definately less than $20) and run w/e size tires you want. IFFF you were to go through all that custom fabrication and whatnot to french the springs into the frame you might as well spend your money better elsewhere and upgrade to coil springs or coilovers (i know they are expensive but you get what you pay for)

ssshhhh be quiet when you don't know what you are talking about. Upgrading a YJ to coilover suspension is a lot more involved then just buying TJ springs. A lot more expensive including precise geometry calculations.

here is my start. once i get 35s it will look better.. 4 inch lift 3 inch high lined fenders with 33s. can always go higher in the rear if i need to get more clearance. still need to trim some. also looking into an inch body lift. will be as high as i go. future will be with 36s and wheelbase extension.

had less then an inch

1994 yj. lifted 4 inches locked, loaded, and armored!

It wouldn't take much fabbing to french the springs into the frame! Much less work than making a 4 link setup with coils and alot cheaper than buying all those rod ends and tubing! Do a spring over (use the old springs for free) for a little more flex and french the front spring eye and back spring eye bushing a little higher in the frame for a couple inches of drop....

If you convert a YJ to coils you still have to put it on links, which would require precise geometry calculations?

But any who, here are some LCOG YJ's

(at full bump, but still, it's gonna be low)
