Ok, so I took my dogs out in the HEEP for the first time. I had the top part of the rear seat down and the bottom part taken out, so they had PLENTY of room. I'll post up pics of them in there later this week. I have a retriever/lab mutt, hound mutt, and sheppard/dane mutt. I had a footlocker in the back with them and the passenger seat is out, because that's where the beer cooler goes. Well, crossing a creek and then climbing the bank on the other side the XJ bounced around a bit. At one point the cooler, foot locker, and all three dogs were jammed up in the passenger side corner. I'm surprised nothing fell out actually. I had the front two doors off as usual. I will be making some tube doors eventually, so nothing DOES fall out. I'll be bolting the cooler and footlocker to the floor, so they are ok, but does anyone have any advice the dogs? I think I scared them a bit. That was on black Friday and I went to take off with them again the next day and only one of them was brave enough to join me. The other two trembled when I told them to get in the Jeep. They wouldn't even come out the front door of the house. They just cowered in the living room Other than knocking around a few times here and there they seemed to have a blast. Suggestions?
Dogs and jeeps... Last time my American Cockerspaniel was in my jeep out of his kennel, we were on a good trail in Big Bear CA. rear seat was out, roof was off he was hanging his head out the side of the jeep, ears flapping tounge lolling. The look of sheer freedom on his face. Then he took a big fat dump. B@st3rd. Truly ruined my day, made his that much better I suppose.
