That is about the biggest boat you would want to tow any distance with a SWB TJ. I tow a 18' fiberglass boat 2 blocks to the boat ramp with mine. It has a straight six mercruiser in it, and will drag the Jeep down the ramp with the front wheels locked up unless I put it in 4wd!!

Whats funny is that you're prolly getting better mileage than that hummer would by itself.

damn it! why didn't I think of that, I could have saved a lot of money instead of buying a trailer for my 4 wheeler.

I've towed this several times. A few times on the streets and a few times at the dunes. Those were the days.

Also, it may have towed my *** a few times as well...

On the subject, has anybody had any problems towing with larger tires and stock gear ratios? When I go to 32"s, I'm probably going to stick with 3.73. Anybody tried something along those lines and care to comment?

I've got the 3.55's and 32's and I pull a 6x12 enclosed around. The highway sucks real bad, but around town is tolerable. If I had the cash, I would definately regear.

I pull this around with 33's now (this pic is 32's)it's about 2000lbs loaded.

Say bye bye to fifth gear and on hill bye bye forth still drivable but if you live where there's lots of hills I would defo re-gear.

not bad once we get in the bush cause you're just crawling anyways

I have 33's on my TJ and have stock gears (3.73) and it is a little bit worse but I was expecting worse. I did a 370 mile round trip with my 2 quads going from San Diego to Yuma which are some pretty big hills. The 1st and 2nd picture with the trailer is when it was stock and on the 3rd picture you can see the trailer behind the jeep but it was unhooked at the time of the picture. Next time I go to the dunes I'll be sure and take a picture all loaded up
