Lets see those painted axles!

Hey Guys, Just ordered a new D44, Locked, Geared and beefed up. However I dont want to keep the bland black color. I would love to see some painted axle housings for ideas.

Those are so cool, but only for a show rig.

I'm forever grateful to Speedycat and RnEmOvr for their generosity

I hope you're not one of those people that say it's not a jeep unless it's dirty. I wheel my rig, and keep it clean, because I do all my own work and it sucks to have dirt fall in your eyes/have bolts break/nuts seized.

I would think the inside would get nasty. Although they are kinda cool. I would want a serious diff guard.

Why wouldn't I? I like to have my jeep look somewhat nice, and like posted above, I hate getting crap in my eyes everytime I crawl under to wrench something. Dont go assuming I'm one of those sissy posers with chrome and new paint everywhere. I just want to have something different, everyone suffers from the red jeep syndrome, same lift, same size tires, boring, bland, blaaa. I will most likely wheel the crap out of it anyway and scrape the paint off, but Considering how my 04 dana 35 looks after 3 years I want to try to keep the D44 looking a bit better down the road.

As for the clear diff cover, its a really cool idea, but if you do the kinda rock crawling I do, that thing wont last an hour. But looks *****en though!! Reminds me of the clear engine covers on exotics. I will most likely get a Solid cover.

Good Question,

Hehe, I think you probably have to drill it with a 1/2 bit and then epoxy it closed each time. Also makes me wonder how this thing will look after a long drive or especially after the break-in period, when your diff gets super hot. I can see that acrulic/lexan beginning to turn hazy.

The end of September I was at the Jeep Jam in Bethle, Maine and one the rubi's there from Canada had them front and rear. It was kinda odd to see that on the trail, I think I have a pic of it somewhere.
