Are there any advantages to it over the factory HT? Or is it just looks?

It does look pretty nice. I'm not sure it's the stock photo off of gr8 tops website. Looks to be 3.5-4" lift and 285's

It has sliding windows, you can take out the side and rear panels and leave just the top on, I think it's sturdier than the factory top but don't quote me on that. Here is the guy's build thread that designed it http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f9/sa.../index411.html

A couple pictures from my hunting trip over the weekend. This was my first time putting a heavy load on the XJ roof rack, I had about 120 lbs. up top. It worked great, though I'm definitely in need of a roof basket upgrade. A lift and tires are in order as well, I've been dragging my gas tank skid all over the North Maine Woods this fall. I'm thinking 2.5" OME with 33x10.50 BFG All-Terrains.

Skeptical? Here's the video. It took several attempts, but I definitely did get over it!

From the the video's view it looks much more doable than in the picture. I thought you meant you went straight over it but from the pic the break over angle looked way to much.

Nonetheless, nice job getting over it. I know pictures and videos never do justice.

Awesome video man! But like posted above, I was skeptical that you got over that rock driving the line in the picture. My thoughts were exactly what happened in the video about getting bottomed out on that point. No disrespect.

None taken, from either of you.

It was a really fun, and challenging obstacle. But any of the guys who were there would tell you that the picture does the obstacle more justice than the video does.
