All I can really say is that I bought a set of matching wheels like I have now that have 5x5.5 bolt pattern and 5.2" of BS. I have enough clerance in the wheels for hubs and a full float rear axle. Both front and rear are custom and Im hoping to have it all together in 6 months or less and Im expecting at least as much ground clearance as I have now.

Oh and the long arm I have now is probably going to get ripped off in favor of something else.

Are you running the 40s with stock axles and 3.73s now?

Yea stock axles and 4:10 gears since it's a rubicon. Upgraded shafts. It's just a toy and it's not going wheeling until the new axles are done.

I'm not going to talk any axle lingo about running 40s on stock axles. I know it's stupid but It's fine as it is right now.

Im sure it drives around town fine... but braking must be kind of scary.

05 LJ 6 speed on 33s. Had it for a couple months. Been a lurker but here is my 1st post. Not as nice as some but she will do!

Thanks. It's a Bestop Trek Top NX. Yes the fit is great, just install it on a good sunny day with 70+ temps and it's pretty cooperative.

Here is the Jeep the day I picked it up. Bought it from a family member who bought it from the rich doctor who built it with a blank check to an offroad shop.

Before I get rightfully flamed for buying an over built Jeep, I used to have a beater 88 YJ that I had to swap out the POS Peugeot followed by two AX-15's. I never got to lift it before I sold it due to the sick/dead dog, marriage, house, jeep-not-safe-for-progeny thing.

So now I am back to owning a Jeep. Got it for fair market value for its age and mileage without any up charge on the bolt-ons.

Chasing the common vacuum/HVAC/cruise control not working/throwing code P0068 gremlin at the moment. Hopefully it is just the dirty aftermarket air filter...

Next up I have to solve:
The lack of reverse lights. Thinking Warrior Spare Tire w/ 3rd Brake Light bracket and swapping the red LED for white.

The lack of front license plate mount. Either the maglite bracket mod or other aftermarket part.

The odometer is borked. Ordered a new one, but they flashed the wrong mileage- 201k instead of 21k. Likely gonna have to get it fixed before the VIN inspection.
The PO's never corrected the speedo/odo for the 285's. It is 10% off so the 21k on the computer is more like 23k+ in reality...



And likely the biggest mods to come-
Secure storage.
New tires.
Cage add-ons.
Big brake upgrade.
