Yeah they are fun! Plus my wife drives a 4Runner and I have a company work truck. I have to rotate driving them some just to use them! Kinda sad!

They are fairly similar now, but you've posted in your build thread that you're gonna' go apesh*t on yours in the near future.

Mine's my DD, and as you already know, we both have pretty capable rigs right now.

I reserve the right to change my mind, but I think I'm (more or less) stopping further major mods (better shocks/alum corners/beadlocks still to come tho'). This rig is so streetable, I don't want to potentially eff up it's good street manners.

If I don't roll it or otherwise hurt it, thereby forcing my hand to tear into it with wild abandon, I may just buy/build a dedicated rock crawler & a trailer.

Talk about a win/win!

Looking forward to your build and the results!

I hope to keep it streetable enough to get to and from the trails here in Colorado and hopefully Utah. I hate trailer my Jeep. I enjoy driving it too much!

I drove it from KC to Denver and it did great. It's just horrible on fuel. The fuel range with 19 gallons is about 200 miles.

I'm hoping with the future changes (gears, tires, wheels, PSC assist) that it's still a great driver. It's not my DD tho. I drive it strictly on the weekends. It would be awesome if I could make the drive to the Rubicon and back next year with the JF group. We shall see.

I drove mine to the Rubicon, did the trail and drove back, just last month...8 hr drive 1 direction, at 68 mph (where it felt best)....cruise control and A/C on. Got 13 mpg at those speeds, 2 people, and full of heavy gear. The LJ did great on and off hiway.

Couple good action shots from Doe Valley last weekend. I am very jealous that I'm not really within driving distance of Moab, Colorado, and the rubicon.

Steve,

How are the Rubicon 44's hold up to the 37'' Krawlers? I assume you have 5.13's and either RCV's or chromoly axles. Nice Jeep. I love Krawlers. How are they on the street? I'm also seriously considering the RockKrawler LA upgrade with the 4'' stretch.

I've been running them for two years and have not had a single problem. Front axle is sleeved, 5.13s, rcv. Rear has ten factory shafts. Both stock lockers are still there and good. It doesn't see much regular street use unless I just feel like driving it. The krawlers are def not very good on the street. They are heavy, flat spot, loud ( I rotate them every 1 thousand miles ) and difficult to balance. Despite all that, I could care less, they are great Offroad especially in the rocks where they were designed to be used. The only tire I'd rather have would maybe be a 37" ltb if they made them...or comp treps lol.

Oh and I love the lift also. RK 3 link front, triangulated rear (with a massive cradle welded to the axle) 5.5" with no BL.
