Took the Jeep out to Starr Motors for a day of wheeling on the course they have on the back of the property. Fun little course and was nice to just keep hitting the same obstacles over and over. Was a good confidence builder in the rocks and allowed me to try different lines and see what works and what doesn't. I can't wait to take my wife out there to let her drive around a bit. She needs a day on a controlled course like this.

thanks man, I like

I was looking for some solid face wheels like the older white solids but turns out the holes actually help with ventilation so this the closest I've seen to a solid. As in, the holes are a lot smaller and there's more metal making up the face of the wheel.

Looks nice man!

Thanks! Yes they are 285 GY MTR Kevlar's. Nice tire, but I wish they were c-load and not e-load rated.

Thanks Beasley. I pretty much setup my rig using yours as a templet.

In regards to my tire size when mounted they are 32 1/2 tall with 27 psi. For whatever reason they seem a little bigger.

I am glad the build thread helped out . Your right the metrics do look taller than that . I think I may go to tall metrics when I start building the TJ ...

Why? ...do the E-loads make it ride like an empty grain cart?

Manufacturer measures Duratracs at 33.1" ...MTR's may be the same. You probably already know but the manufacturer rates their measurment based on max PSI on rim but not on vehicle. The metric 33's usually measure about a 1/2" taller than standard 33 x 12.50's or 10.50's.

Certainly. Part of the reason I switched to a 16" wheel (awaiting tires and install). The 285/75/16's look better (IMO) than 33 x 12.50 R15's as they are 33.1 by 11.3. The 33 x 12.50's are 32.5 by 12.5 ....so they will appear much shorter due to the profile. I like the 11.3 width based on the many threads I've read of 12.50's vs 10.50's.

They don't bother me around town, but trips over an hour are fatiguing. Compared to my old c rated GY DuraTrac's they do ride like an empty grain cart. My next tires will be at least d rated. Not that many c rated tires in 285-75-16 to pick from...
