I'm now a member

Well I can proudly say that I am now a member of the LJ club. I just picked up my Rubicon Unlimited Sahara limited edition this weekend. I had to drive 1500 miles to get it. But I've got it home now. Here are a couple of quick pictures I took last night. I'll try to get some more soon.

Here's a link to a thread showing what I'm currently up to on my LJ. It's my DD but i also wheel the p!$$ out out of it.

http://www.arcticoffroad.com/forum/s...ead.php?t=7626

Quick breakdown: "06 LJ Rubicon - Manual trans
Mopar offroad accessory package with 9.5ti and Grizzlybeaver Customs mini stinger/winch protector bar
High-range locker bypass with safety switch next to axle lock switch
2" BDS lift springs and shocks
Nth Degree Mobility TummyTucker
Rusty's control arms with combination of flex ends and OE rubber bushings and adjustable rear track bar
Will be getting 285/75R16 Cooper Discoverer ST's in the next few weeks and keeping stock Moabs.

Oh, yeah, back on page 3 the question was asked where did "LJ" come from. It's just an abbreviation of the informal nickname Long Jeep purposely similar to the Jeep model designations and it just caught on. It's official designation is TJ-long wheelbase. Please correct me if I'm wrong. That's word of mouth info from the local dealer, but they pretty much suck.

Do you have a body lift? Let me know how those 285s work out with only 2" of lift. I've been considering a similar setup for my LJ. I'm looking at going with the BDS 2" lift and the Cooper STs in a 255/85/16. How are those Coopers in the snow?

Thank you, its got some minor issues that I need to fix. (cruise doesn't work, fan switch doesn't work, weather stripping on top isn't right, tires are terribly cupped and out of balance, gas mileage is worse than my other jeep was) They were really starting to bother me, but I think as soon as I get them fixed I will really like it.

I was really hoping to find a limited edition Sahara and I did. I had to fly/drive 1500miles to get it, but I think it will be worth it once I take car of a couple little annoyances. I also will have to add a slider/step for the wife and kids and I need to put on a reciever hitch or bumper. Then I think I will really love it. After having my previous Jeep for 6 years, this one doesn't really feel like mine yet. But I'm sure in time I will love this Jeep even more than my other one. Its too bad we sometimes have to sell the Jeeps we love to buy a new one. I really wish I could have both Jeeps. Oh well, you know what they say, you never forget your first Jeep. Or at least they should say it.
