I think the Texas DMV has turned over most of the specialty plates to a private company "MYPLATES". The DMV directs you to their website if you try to order a personalized plate or one of the new designs you've seen running around town.

This sucks because the Mississippi State Alumni association has been working with TxDOT this whole time($40), but now it's gone through MYPLATES and will be the fees shown below....

1 year = $195
5 years = $495
10 years= $595

This is on top of the regular registration fees....What a friggin rip off....

Didn't have to wait. New plate design, ordered the week they came out. All version of crawler were already gone. My daughter just got ZOMBE on a Pet Friendly plate.
