No, they're customs, although many companies will sell you 'turnkey' Brutes. They're as close to production as a major mod like this gets.

they're "production" alright...custom produced by AEV - www.aev-conversion.com. The cool differences are outlined on their website, including the price. If you've got really deep pockets you can drive off with a $75,000 turnkey Brute with every dream gadget you can think of.

Ohhh. Ok so it's like the 4x4 E series van.. Ford doesn't make them, a big company does.

Exactly. Or you can convert it yourself, but I wouldn't unless you've got access to a body shop and all the tools therein.

Just for a little backstory... 6.1L Hemi, and the throttle "stuck"... still not sure how that happened since it was the drive-by-wire setup, though. Ran into a brand new JK and they both rolled.

That damage just froze me in my tracks. A crying shame especially reading your comment.
I wish you all the best in physical, spiritual and mechanical recovery.
I have been there, a couple quick barrel-rolls into a ditch is a bad way to sum up a project but accidents like this can and do happen to many of us. Good luck and keep on the dirt.

They're a hair under 9 from the manufacturer, AEV. It's not a bad price, especially for someone who can get a 'wrecked' TJ for cheap. If I was going to build a TJ, that's where I'd start-one with severe body damage but a solid frame and drivetrain and go from there.

And you don't need *that* much from what I've seen to build it...it looks like a little welding (And the appropriate grinding smooth), and that's it. And, obviously, paint.
