Don't get me wrong, it's very cool, looks great, it's a very usable quad cab pickup truck, but the break over angle and departure angle is horrible.

The cost to build one (if you did all the work yourself) would be $35,000+ and you can get a great quad cab turbo diesel for that much that would do everything this thing could do 3 times better.

I would expect AEV to sell these for $55,000+ with a Hemi

Don't get me wrong I certainly woudn't be ashamed to drive one and it would get a ton of attention, it just wouldn't be as good off road as a regular jeep and wouldn't pull on road as a turbo diesel pickup. Shoehorn a 6bt CTD in it and we'll have a different conversation.

True but practicality is only part of the equation when comes to custom cars, jeeps, trucks, or most things you see at SEMA. People spend huge amounts of time and bucks just because its bad-***!

I like the AEV 4d Brute.
I wish Jeep and AEV would team up on this and put it into a production model to trim about $20k or more. I think this vehicle has the potential to be a real crowd pleaser.

You can rule that out, AEV said they aren't going to sell this as a kit.

Not exactly, to start off they will only be selling them as a completed turn key, and on top of that they will only be selling them to past AEV customers and AEV employees.

Then they will be selling them to the public.

Then, later down the road they will sell the kits.

In 2003 Jeep is so enamored with the Brute, they ship it to Detroit to see if it is feasible to produce. The original red Brute is actually moved down the Plymouth Prowler assembly line for fitting, and ASC is charged with building the Brute. Everything looks good for a 2004 Brute model...until one executive at DaimlerChrysler objects that the Brute is too similar to Jeep's new "Scrambler" concept, scheduled at the time to come out alongside the Unlimited (eventually, the Scrambler is scrapped altogether). The executive in question is later fired, but the damage is done and it is determined that there will not be enough time to recoup the setup costs for Brute by the time the TJ is scheduled to end production in 2006

Floor of the bed to the top of the rail is 17 1/8 inches

Bed length is 67.2"

So about 7 feet.

this one is for sale for $61,500. It is the one from the Dangerous Drives episode. I think it's got a HEMI in it. I know the owner.
