Lock it and hide a winch in the bumper, and I would call that a sleeper

Nice.

This was a little write up in Motor Trend. They called My 5.9 Jeep Grand Cherokee a Super Sleeper. Well not Mine, Mine Is locked front and rear with 4.56 gears and 33's so I guess mine is a Super super sleeper.

On our test and photo days, truckloads of people asked about the Denali, but not one inquired about the stealthy Grand Cherokee. No surprise: Aside from the non-functional hood louvers, only elusive details announce the presence of this otherwise super-sleeper high-performance Jeep. Several subtle styling cues such as the chromed 3-inch exhaust tip, body-colored grille with mesh screen, unique sill molding and roof rack, and shiny badge indicate that this is something special. This follows the "speak softly, carry a big stick" philosophy held by numerous musclecars since the '64 Pontiac Tempest GTO began that genre.

My Jeep is sort of a sleeper. I think the build is better than you would expect for a near stock looking Jeep.

Nothing that says "Rubicon" from the factory is considered an offroad sleeper IMO, JK or not. You expect it to perform very well offroad right off the assembly line. A sleeper is one you'd barely expect on the trail, wait for it to spin out or fail at obstacles, and definitely expect it to take the bypass. I don't expect to see ANY Rubicon taking a bypass.

What about Jerry B.'s Rubi? He doesn't have the trail rated sticker, it doesn't say Rubicon on it anymore, heck, it has the older style mirrors that were put on TJs before the Rubi came out. To everyone, it would look like a 4" SA lifted Jeep on 35"s that probably has 3.73 gear, open diffs with a d35.

Hahaha Just sprung a wild hair and thought about reversing this idea.

Just putting a Rubicon sticker and 2003+ mirrors on, most people wouldnt notice it had a 2.5, a d35 and open diffs!

When you see my Grocery getter going places a stock Rubicon can't . Then I even hear them boy's say, That ZJ is a hell of a sleeper. But It took a years of work and effort to get my ZJ Lifted ,gears , 4 -locked and a little bit of American Muscle to out perform a stock Rubi.
So I say no way will a Rubi every be Low enough on the capability's level to be considered a sleeper. Unless your Rubi are Passing up buggies like FAT GIRL On Cable Hill or some insane place.

x2. The only thing better would be a stock XJ with lockers @ both ends. I don't know why people continue dumping $thousands into lifts, bubble tires, blah blah.

How about a 5.9L with 231 HD tereflex with SYE, TW shafts, Kevins Radiator support, factory LS in rear rebuilt 44a with 4:10's, front HP dana 30 with 4:10's open, 2" BB with 245x75x16 "E" load range on stock wheels, K and N cold air intake, new chery bomp exhaust with High flow cat and three inch pipe... stock chrome tip, ARB with 8000lb winch doesn't hide too well, but the control module is under the hood, and there's a remote on the key fob...more stealth to come soon...
