My Dad taught me the basics on his cj7 when I was very young. Once I got my first jeep, I worked on it myself and taught myself how to fix everything. Write-ups help and do does a manual

Dad's been a mechanic, at heart, for his whole life. He was a mechanic on commercial tractor/trailers for a while, but eventually switched to management in the same field. He's amazing. Ask him what size a bolt head if and he can fire it off no problem. He has the most amazing memory of anyone I've ever met...and he's in his late 50s! Oh, and an FSM is handy too.

The best part is, that dad learned a lot of what he knows from HIS dad. It's definitely in my blood.

I learned alot from this site. Just search or post in the technical sections when you have a question. If your doing something to your jeep someone else has already done it and posted about it.

I have a friend who worked on mine with me, but he taught himself. Mostly through the internet and basic write ups on various jobs etc.
