Fab your own sliders/side rails? (XJs)

Hey All

I'm looking to see if anyone has fabbed their own sliders/side rails for their jeep, particulary XJs. I'm looking more for functionality of a step up type feature more than armor. So if anyone has done this or has specs, instructions, or any other type of information please post and let me know!!

Thanks for your anticipated help guys!

Awesome! Do you have any specs or anything from when you did it? And how did you attach them

It's 2x6 with the bars welded on. Don't remember exactly what size. But my rockers were rotted so we cut the rocker out up to the door and welded the 2x6 in. So it's all welded solid. It made the jeep feel a lot stiffer afterwards.

Did you weld to the unibody rails and the pinch wells?
