Thanks - It's not photoshop either. It's a Nikon D3 and a Zeiss f1.4 manual focus lens...

The lights are the best I've ever seen, The only improvement would be to add more spots to cover a wider path for a further distance.

What I'd really like is to add night vision camera to my RB1. Some luxury car makers offer this, and it works far better than any lights ever could with regard to spotting large animals near the side of the road at night.

Here in WY, we have them in bulk - Bison, elk, deer, moose, bears, etc. I will probably send my RB1 out to have the aux video inputs installed, for that very reason.

Slightly off subject....

But I think Lightforce offers an IR filter for their halogen lights. So very little visible light is emitted, but with a set of goggles on, its like day.

Just thought that was neat-o, lol.

The one I had in mind, which I've seen in a friend's BMW, is the FLIR PathFindIR. It uses thermal imaging to offset IR problems with oncoming traffic, etc. It's AMAZING how well it works.

Unfortunately, the cheapest price I've found is $2,900. Ouch... Hope the price comes down. Given how well it works, I'd hope it someday becomes a standard auto safety feature, at 1/10th the cost, eventually. (Something like half the accidents in Wyoming involve wild game.)

Very high on the 'neat-o' scale though!

Wasnt cadillac doing that for a while too? Aside from cost, I wonder why it never caught on.

i wanted to go with low profile lights cuz i dont think huge 6" lights look good on a grand unless it has a basket, which i dont really care for....

original set up

lit up

new set up. the fogs were moved to the back as reverse lights. no pics of these lit up yet

but i do have these lit up

but ask yourself, do i really need these rack lights if this is what i have normally?

prolly not, but why not?

ill prolly get some pics of all the lights lit up this weekend when i go home

That is WAY too much for a set of 500's. The highest Ive seen in advance auto is $60. Walmart sells a cheaper version for around $50 (cheaper harness).

$130 can buy you a set of 130w KC's.

Oh, and I added a few more.

150w long range KC's on the windshield, and 130w KC/ 55w hella drivers on the bumper.

Do you have a close-up picture of the lights that are mounted on the hood? Maybe from underneath as well?

I had those on my hood before, all you do is literally remove the stock rubber thing, put the bolt from the light in the hole, lift the hood and put the nut on the other side and tighten and your all set

I had lights on the hood once apon a time. I just took the braket that came with the light and used the same hood bolt.
