While they aren't Jeeps here's a vid of some guys who take expedition outings to a whole new level! No reason a nicely modded Wagoneer couldn't pull off some of this stuff and go offroading in comfort instead of a tent.

All I watched was the second episode. Seems like a bunch of yuppie kids going off for an "adventure". The bike couldn't make that climb? Maybe a Beemer bike with street tires isn't the greatest choice. Great location for wheeling however.

The tires looked to me to be Mefo Explorers, they are probably the best long range offroad tire you can buy. All the guys riding from the states up to the Northern tip of Alaska and back pick that tire. They are tough as nails and usually last 15,000 miles or so. He said he'd put 10,000 miles on that beemer in the last 4 months, that would mean he would be eating up a set of offroad knobbies about every 2 weeks assuming he's doing alot of road miles in between his offroading. Overlanding isn't about tackeling the toughest terrain, it's about finding the best vehicle to do both long range travel and the toughest offroad you can. A good 2 stroke woods bike would eat that climb alive but about 5 minutes into a 1,000 mile trip on a YZ and you are going to hate it. Those 800 Beemers on the road are butter for miles and miles.

They are JK's off a Rubicon (Moab), 17", will fit a TJ with adapters.

^would adapters be bad for the jeep? It would extend the wheelbase, can that damage it in some way?

Those are JK Moabs on Lo2ay"s LJ. He's not running spacers though, he's got JK Dana 44's under there... Sweet rig.

Try Stockton wheels. They can make pretty much anything you want.
