Definitely was my plan and my goal with my WJ. I still need a few more things (rear locker, gears, rear tire carrier) to really make it capable and open up more space, but it's been a great camping rig so far.

This is my goal and I'm slowly coming along with it. I still need a gas tank skid and rockers, then my plan is a multimount winch and then to turn to interior things. I'm on 31s so regearing will probably happen SOMEWHERE along the way. Shes done pretty damn well though so far.

Awesome thread.

I am going this route with mine for sure. I took the cage off for the winter, I'm going to add a light bar that sits at windshield height (so it sits under the top bar on the cage, will have to be custom made). I also want to add a rack to the top, but want one low profile, may have to end up building that too. Keep the picks coming!

Set up for whatever is in front of her. She can go for days all alone. Sleeping needs to be improved upon. LOL

What kind of shocks does everyone think would be best for a rig like this?

I've had the idea of an expedition Jeep since I bought mine, and it's what I've been working towards. Last spring was the addition of a new off-road trailer. Wow… it's now like luxury camping with the added carrying capacity that this trailer has brought!

The trailer has some refinements to make yet, like a front rack or box (it has a battery inside, but I'd like to move it to a front box), and possibly a roof top tent.
