I like that flare trimming - I experimented with an old set before I got the Metal Cloaks, and I have to say - you did a MUCH nicer job than I did!

Thanks guys, I appreciate the positive reactions. Build thread? Maybe, I was thinking 35's, no lift, and making it as light as I can - as it is, the 33x10.5 AT tires help with rotational mass and make it drive better, unless in deep or sloppy mud. Much more street friendly, and not scary even up to 140 km/hr (about 85 mph). I do a lot of the simple work myself, but for the bigger stuff I drop it off, then pick it up and it's magically improved. I draw the line at stuff like gear swaps.

Phase 2 should be the 35's, 4.88's, Truetrac front, potentially some RCV shafts or something along those lines, Super 35 rear with an ELocker, Currie short arms, some sort of brake upgrade, and some fancy shocks (TBD). As it is, I am starting a pile of parts - it's hard to be patient!

The garage floor currently includes a MORE MML, UCF skid, Savvy lights, Solid diff covers and some other small stuff I haven't gotten around to putting on.

Thanks man... it took a lot of careful cutting and then sanded the edges smooth. I think it turned out well... and it's free!

Your phase II will be great to see. And BTW we all hate you hahaha!

i like what you did with the rear flares. i just trimmed my fronts but kept the same shape as stock. did you angle the fronts too? i might have to try that on the rears.

Thanks! The fronts are actually getting removed this week. I'm installing new MCE flat fenders.

Edit: If interested in some close up pics, shoot me a PM

Get in line, my (very understanding) fiancee has reminded me a couple of times that you can't pay for a wedding with Jeep parts!

@ 06TJX: What headlights are those? Also, what spacers are you running to keep the tires out of the control arms?

I really like the way yours looks now. I remember you used to have the wrap around windjammer and safari top and I've been rocking that for a while now but i kind of want to go back to full soft top and yours looks freakin sweet like that. Especially because ours are both shale green, except mine is a sahara with tan interior and matching flares. But its nice to see how it would look with black accents and black top .
And those new MTR's look SICK! and they look bigger than 33" which would be real nice too
